When people think of an ideal lifestyle, they think of being rich, famous, and not ever having to worry about much of anything. After playing a professional sport, most athletes get that honor. Having money flowing out of their ears, being able to make money through talking about their experiences, and just having the title of being a professional athlete is quite an accomplishment. I do not understand why professional athletes would risk all of that just to get a high off of drugs.
This happened to NFL's leading rusher this year. The Denver Bronco's Travis Henry is now facing a one year suspension for failing a drug test. Henry was already suspended in 2005 for REPEAT substance abuse violations. He is also facing bonus money that the Bronco's paid him being taken away. His contract could have led him to earn somewhere around $12 million after all was said and done but now that is in jeopardy.
How stupid can a player be. He already got in trouble in 2005 for substance abuse, but he is still doing it. If a person is making that kind of money, and putting up those kind of numbers in the games, why wouldn't they wait a few years till they are out of the NFL and do what ever they want? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me!
