Test #2

Ok so the boilers didn't really pass their first test. The Buckeyes came in and pretty much did what ever the wanted, when the wanted. So, Purdue’s got Michigan this weekend and it’s at "the Big House." This will be another test. Now the question is, can the Boilers pass this one? We'll see, but they need to do a few things if they want to beat the Wolverines.

First Curtis Painter needs to come and play. Last week he played poorly. He only completed 31 for 60. Yes, he was facing one of the premier defenses in the nation but some of those passes looked more like basketball bounce passes. It also seemed like him and the receivers just weren't on the same page.

Second Purdue needs to have some sort of rushing game to set up the pass. The Boilers had a total of 4 positive yards rushing last Saturday. No wonder Painter couldn't do get anything going. There was no threat of running, so the safeties and corners just had to focus on the receivers.

Third, the defense needs to play well ALL GAME. Now last week they played really well, after they gave up two easy touchdowns. They need to keep Heart under a hundred yards to make sure that the wolverines don't stay on the field to long, so Painter and that high powered offense can put some points on the board.

This game will truly show what kind of team Purdue is this year. Michigan is starting to pick up wins and the Boilers need to get back on track. The Ohio State game showed us that we aren't a national contender this year, but the Michigan game will show us whether we can contend at all.
