Battle of Who Could Care Less

Ben Folds would be proud. It seems as though the college football season is taking after the dispersed band "Ben Folds Five." The bands hit song "Battle of Who Could Care Less" seems to be the theme of this season. Not only has there been an abundance of upsets among the top ranks but the past three weeks a number two team has lost. It started with USC's loss to Stanford followed by California's loss to OSU and again this Thursday when South Florida fell to conference rival Rutgers.

Don't be surprised if Boston College, who is off this week, gets upended next week on the road at Virginia Tech. BC looks to be the number two team in the nation next week as they are number three right now. That would continue the theme to a staggering FOUR weeks. This college football season has been everything and more then i expected. It will be really exciting to see how things finally pan out.

The mid season brings up many question thought to never be asked. Is there going to be a two loss team in the national championship? Could a one loss team that didn't win their conference championship go to the NC? With all the number two teams losing right now wouldn't it be ironic if the number two team in the NC wins it all? It's only a matter of time before these get answered. With about six weeks left to go anything can happen.

It seems that everybody is relying on someone else to take control of their season. Many teams have had the chance to control their destiny but just throw it away. Others throw it away after them giving them a chance to salvage their season. By the end you might hear everybody singing another Ben Folds Classic, "You to Thank."
