A Boiler Bulldozing

O.K. so Purdue didn't get the notice that there was a big game last Saturday. They lost and got totally dominated by OSU. Apparently they didn't get the notice that there was a game today either. The Wolverines of Michigan trounced the Boilermakers today, 48-21, in a beatdown that has ended any residual hope for a Big Ten Championship this year. Despite losing last week to OSU there was still hope but was wiped away today.

With an offense that looked explosive earlier in the season, the Boilers have not done any impressing the last two games. Their defense lived up to it's reputation today giving up 48 points and looked terrible all game. The most disappointing part of that is that they looked to be improved after the OSU game, giving up only 23 points and making some very athletic plays.

The bright side of the season is that the worst stretch is over. The Iowa Hawkeyes come in to play next week with a lot of momentum on their side. They beat a good Illinois team that was ranked in the top 25 and among the top of the Big Ten standings. Their record is 3-4 and won their first Big Ten game today against the Illini to put them at 1-3. So a good contest is set up for next weekend at Ross-Ade. I won't give up on the Boilers there is still much season and promise left, just not with the BCS. A successful season is still in close reach.
