Let em' kick

So the there was another amazing Monday Night Football game on last night. The Cowboys did not come to play and the Bills let them know that. The Cowboys had five interceptions along with one fumble during the game. The Bills all game looked like they had the undefeated Cowboys on the ropes and were just waiting to knock them out. The thing was they didn’t. The bills not hosting a Monday Night Football game in thirteen years, you would assume that they would come out with something to prove and they did. For the First three quarters they controlled most of the game. The Cowboys just never gave up. So at the end of the game down by two points, the cowboys had to kick on onside kick. The cowboys ended up coming up with the ball and started their drive to set up a field goal for the win. So they ended up giving their kicker a long kick with only a couple seconds left. So they get the field goal unit out there. There’s the snap, the hold, then the kick and it was good. The Cowboys just came from being down all game to wining the game by a single point, but wait there was a time out right before the kick, but the kicker still kicked. This is when I got a little upset.

Now I'm neither a Cowboys fan nor a Bills fan, but this time out crap right before a kicker kicks is ridiculous. I mean I could see the time out were it “freezes” the kicker, but this time out were the kicker has to kick multiple field goals is crazy. People say, “man, that’s great coaching!” I say hell no it’s not, it just shows that coach really scared of that kicker. Now it’s not against any rule so coaches will still do it, but personally I think it is a little disrespectful to the kicker and the opposing team. I mean the guys got enough stress and pressure without having to go through it twice and the team usually has a lot of emotion on the edge. I mean if the coach wants to call a time out before he kicks, blow the whistle and grant the timeout before he kicks. Don’t make the kicker kick twice, plus one these times someone is going to somehow get hurt in some freak way, on a play that shouldn’t have even started. I know football is a dangerous sport, and I know I probably sound like a big baby, but it just gets on my nerves when the coaches do this crap.
