The BCS is once again in shambles as the number one team went down 28-21 in The Ohio State University. Not only this but it was to an unranked Illinois team, on top of that they lost at the Horseshoe. So what does this do to the national championship picture? Well, it messes it up pretty bad. The only team that is undefeated from a BCS conference is Kansas and many people would say they are overrated at number four. I don't think you should argue with an undefeated team. Another team that is undefeated is Hawaii who looks to pull a Boise State and shake up the BCS world once again.
Question is, with this wacky of a college football season who deserves to get into the national championship? Lets look at some of the potential candidates...
LSU: They will go to the NC if they win out. They have a big game with Arkansas at the end of the year that will decide their fate. Their only trip up was a game at Kentucky.
Oregon: They look to be set up pretty well today with the loss of OSU. But I think they are depending on Kansas to lose one of their games in order for them to have a chance.
Kansas: If they win out they WILL go to the NC. They have a tough road to get there though. Including a matchup today at Oklahoma State, then a big showdown with Missouri in the last game. If they win those then they will play in the Big 12 Championship which is likely to set them up with an Oklahoma Sooner team.
Speaking of Oklahoma: They have shot as well. They will need some help though. If they do win out it will be against some good opponents as they will meet in the Big 12 Championship as I referred to earlier.
Ohio State: They are down, but not out. This loss today really hurts but look for a good game against Michigan next week. The winner of this game will go to the Rose Bowl, at least. OSU will need a ton of help though.
