First with ND, going into the weekend I felt pretty optimistic. I was confident that Coach Weis would rally the troops and turn it around against a worthy opponent. I was wrong to say the least. Penn State's defense did more than just shut the offensive attack of the Irish down, it embarrassed them. They sacked and held a rush offense to a whole zero yards. The defense did more scoring then the offense; they put a pick six on the board but did little to stop a veteran PSU offense that put up 31 on a defense that was supposedly revamped. The special teams did all they could do to help the Irish O by setting them up with a first and goal at the four, only for them to go backwards and get a field goal out of it. Filthy, horrible, nauseating.
At least Michigan can score an offensive touchdown, but besides that they didn't do much else. Giving up 39 points and looking bewildered on an offensive assault by an Oregon Duck spread attack. My favorite play would have to be the fake statue of liberty play that made a defensive end look absolutely stupid, I couldn't help but laugh.
But hey, Michigan is going to win, despite two embarrassing home losses, next week against ND, or at least that's what UM Running Back Mike Hart thinks. Hart guaranteed victory over the Irish soon after their loss to Oregon.
I won't be quite as quick to make my prediction on the game, I guess we will see.
