Sad weekend

Last weekend was a hard one for me to watch football. I had only one of my picks come true and my two teams didn't come up with a win. The Boilers once again didn't seem like themselves. They just didn't play the football that they were capable of playing. Curtis Painter actually played a decent game on the ground, showing that he was a versatile quarterback, scoring two touchdowns on running plays. Passing he threw for over 300 yards, but still struggled with two picks and only one TD pass. The special teams were a little shaky as well and the defense didn't play like we needed them to. So, the Boilers play IU this weekend at Bloomington, and they really could use the win and come home once again with the Oaken Bucket.

My poor Colts, it's like watching a depleted army go against a whole nation and almost pull out the win, but in the end your reliable sniper, aka Mr. Adam. Misses the "shot" and the whole army gets destroyed. Now, I know that’s a horrible comparison but the Colts have some serious problems. They don't have three of their starting receivers. Last game both tackles went out of the game. Dwight Freeney went out of the game, with what I hope was just a minor sprain or a twists and only brought 17 players for their offense. That’s pathetic. Peyton had a really tough game. He threw 6 intercepts in all. I know it might sound bias because I’m a Colts fan but I got to believe that he threw the majority of those because he didn't have any receivers to catch the ball. Now, given six is a hell of a lot of intercepts, but a couple of those were outstanding catches like the one that Chargers cornerback pulled down. I just hope next weekend vs. the Chiefs we can get some of our starters back and pull out a win.
